Return Ticket for Visa Planning — Sample vs Confirmed
Many visitor-visa checklists ask for a return or onward flight plan. That does not always mean you must buy a non-refundable ticket on day one — but it often means the consulate wants to see plausible travel dates. Requirements differ by country; read the official checklist for your mission.
How a sample return itinerary helps
With NeedReturn you can generate a sample return ticket layout showing outbound and return legs. Use it to stress-test whether your dates match hotel bookings, discuss plans with a sponsor, or practise assembling a complete document set.
Always label it as a sample. Our PDFs carry SAMPLE – NOT VALID FOR TRAVEL.
When the checklist implies verification
If wording includes “confirmed reservation,” “booking reference that can be verified,” or similar, a dummy PDF is the wrong tool. Prefer airline refundable fares, agent-held temporary reservations with a real PNR, or specialist verifiable reservation services.
Practical tip: Draft with a sample → confirm rules with the embassy site → purchase or hold the real booking only when the checklist (and your risk tolerance) say you should.
